DEAFLYMPICS IS OVER! THAT IS WHY I LOVE SPORTS

The 24th Summer Deaflympics is finally over! The Closing Ceremony was officially closed on May 15th, 2022. Marathon became the last sport discipline running the last finish. Ukraine becomes the winner of the Deaflympics with 62 gold medals, 38 silver medals, and 38 bronze medals, in a total of 138 medals, the United States is ranked second place with 20 gold medals, 11 silver medals, and 24 bronze medals, in a total of 55 medals, and third ranked's a shocking nation in Deaflympics history, Iran won 14 gold medals, 12 silver medals, and 14 bronze medals, in a total of 40 medals.  The host country, Brazil placed 44th ranking with six bronze medals. Congratulations to Ukraine! Ukraine is amazing and it is inconceivable that a country that is at war still be the champion of the Deaflympics.

Ukrainian athletes fled to several nearby countries such as Italy, Germany, Austria, Poland, etc due to war in February 2022 and trained with their athletes. Ukraine hadn't accepted the funding so they threatened to fail to go to Brazil but the valuable funding helps from across Europe so they could go to Brazil. Hold on, where are they returning back after competing in the Deaflympics? No worries! They still out and return back to the same gate. They will not return back to Ukraine. They have registered to settle temporarily in several countries and have the planning of competing in another competition in a short time. Once, hats off to Ukraine! Ukraine did an amazing job!

As Indonesia didn't participate in the Deaflympics, I cheered for Team USA, especially in basketball and soccer. In the conclusion of I cheered for, Team USA won 2 gold medals and a silver medal included the United States women's basketball team won 91-77 over Italy with 14 points margin and earned a perfect record, 6-0 in a total, 59-2 record in Deaflympics history and the United States women's soccer dramatically winning 4-2 by penalty kick over a defense strongest team, Poland after making the first tie, 2-2 and have recorded with 33 wins, a tie, and without a loss since they won the 2016 Deaf World Cup in Italy and they also continue the unbeaten record in Deaf women's soccer history for all competitions. As a result, the USDWNT has secured the fourth consecutive gold medal. The United States men's basketball team failed to add the 15th gold medalist after a shocking loss to Ukraine, 66-91 by 25 points margin, and earned a 6-1 record, a total of a 92-2 record. Unfortunately, the United States men's soccer team have eliminated from the group stage after losing to Germany, 4-0, and recorded 2 wins and 2 losses. I was sad but happy another team won the gold medal.

I love Deaf sports and as well I love women's sports, I felt the Deaflympics is meaningful to me as being a Deaf person. I love Deaflympics. That kind of something should I be proud of but I was disappointed of my country couldn't participate in the Deaflympics and forced to cheer for Team USA instead. Team USA has the longest great sports national team in Deaflympics history so that was why I cheered for Team USA despite I'm not a US citizen. For example, Team USA has won more than 1.000 medals and currently has captured 1.058 medals. America has the best sports competition in the world, especially basketball. Soccer is also well-known for becoming a sport popular in the world.

In all sports I love in my world as much as I know, nothing sports competition makes I'm proud of who am I and be proud myself, only Deaflympics is an answer. I am proud to be a sports fan growing up. Sports are just beautiful and full of emotions of reacting to the loss, win, champions, sportsmanship, trophy, world champions, and the gold medal. That is pretty cool and wonderful. Despite I love football, women's soccer,  and basketball, I also love watching table tennis, tennis, athletics, swimming, men's soccer, wrestling, judo, karate, volleyball, and many different sports. In the last Olympics in 2021, I learned and watched gymnastics, and now I learned how beautiful Deaf sports has. I don't care about how different levels between hearing and Deaf sports are in the same rules and playing since I just love sports, anyway. I wish someday I will coach a basketball team to participate in different competitions, like in the NBA and even I will coach a national team for the Deaflympics or Olympics as well. Because I love sports, I love working with athletes and helping the team to win a championship.

The next host Summer Deaflympics will host in Tokyo, Japan in July/ August 2025 and will be a special event because it will celebrate the 100th anniversary Deaflympics since the first Summer Deaflympics hosted in Paris, France in 1924. The 25th Summer Deaflympics in Tokyo, Japan is probably will be using the same venues and accommodations where they hosted for the 2020 Olympics. That's exciting! I can't wait to watch and cheer for my country if Indonesia will participate.

I love Deaflympics, Deaf sports, and women's sports, in all sports, I love.

Thanks, everyone!

Apakah Anda Sungguh Berpikir Bahwa Orang Tuli Tidak Bisa Belajar Bahasa Inggris? (Terjemahan Bahasa Indonesia)

How Deaf People Experience Music?

Source: Drooble The Blog Fell the vibe: How deaf people experience music and create music When I was at the International English Center, I listened to music on my white earphone, my friend asked me, "How do you experience music?" This was a good question because hearing people think that Deaf people can't listen to music.  I answered, "Yes, I do!" How can it be? Here's I want to share how Deaf people experience music.  Deaf people can do anything except can't hear you know. Music is kind of identical to people who can listen to and sing. So, how can Deaf people experience music?  Firstly, we must always be grateful to God because we are born to have a modern-technology and it makes our life become easier and more accessible. My cellphone has Spotify-- which features lyrics so I can listen to music by singing the lyrics. Musixmatch also has the same feature. And, I can feel how it sounds will be like loud, medium, or soft, and what kind of sound I listen...

Why Should A Deaf Person Lives On A Hearing World?

As continued in previous writing titled "Am The Only Deaf Person", I want to speak on why should a Deaf person lives on a hearing world.  This is would be interesting because you know that none of many Deaf populations as much as hearing people have. Hearing people are bigger than Deaf people. Living as a Deaf person isn't easy, even for a hearing family who has Deaf children. Many hearing people do not know sign language. Only hearing people included a Deaf ally and maybe only 5% of the hearing people know sign language.  Which are least 10% of Deaf people who have studied at a mainstream school and as a bit of raised in the hearing world in all their life. As Surya-who was a Deaf panelist on Zoom- said that there are 90% of hearing families who have Deaf children and I can say only 4% of hearing families admitted to want to learn or teach sign language as a first language to their Deaf children. Everything can't change but Deaf people can be living on a hearing worl...
