The 22th Letter: When is Will Be An Offline System at College?

Over 8 months with an online system, I felt awful and dizzy. That made my eyes and head was sick. In September ago, I had been attended more than ten online events and meetings on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and WhatsApps. I also worked on Microsoft Documents, Evernote, Google Drive, and Classroom. I felt bored to do the same activity in my home despite I have a Wifi connection in my home but its really doesn't help to me.

I had depression, stress, and felt couldn't work like that. That was brought so many problems in my life. I wrote my short thought on online activity.

This is I wrote a few minutes ago through Instagram:

March to July, we were in isolating due to Covid-19. But, now I saw that many people were begin to reopen the stores, markets, organizations, offices, institutions, cafes, restaurants, tourists, communities, and some places. And even, some companies are hiring new workers to work with WFO not WFH and/ or hybrid system. I also saw some people follow the protocols but some people doesn't follow the protocols. My two movie plans was canceled due to Covid-19 but I saw movie company had been continued their shooting plan with the protocol. My college is still closed but the offices and institutions had reopen. So, is that virus unreal? I believe that someone tested positive for Covid-19 and die due to Covid-19, but I saw and think that's not makes sense. To be honest, I always wear a mask and bring a hand sanitizer because I'm afraid of Covid-19, but what did they doing during the pandemic? It's a big question to everyone and you. IS THAT VIRUS UNREAL?

Why is that? Over 8 months, I'm in home and I'm bored to do the same activities during the pandemic. I don't go back to Jogja. I haven't my home in Jogja. So, I can't return my home to Jogja. Just a thing, I WANT TO BACK WORK. I feel I can't work with an online system. And even, I never check out by my self with the tests, like Rapid and SWAB. I missed a lot of things. I fired, my class is closed, I couldn't work, I didn't come there, and so many things I've missed those opportunities. Unfortunately, my college is still closed so that my parents don't give permission to go back to Jogja but it's not reality that I saw. It's all of things doesn't makes sense and unbelievable. My friend said it was like a dictatorship. Yeah, it's just doesn't makes sense and unbelievable.

#WannaWork

Yeah, I want to an offline system at college. I feel can't study like that. I just want to justice to get the rights to expression my complaint on online activities during the pandemic.

My question to my college is when is will be an offline system at college? I hope they will respond soon. Why? I trust it's not only me but my friends certainly feel like that. They also want to back study with an offline system. That's one of things they've miss and wanted. Hopefully that will help to us.

Thanks. everyone!

Saya ...

Gloss, A Forgotten Learning Foreign Language and Translate

I was testing a student who stood up to share her short story in signs in our class. She was so good at signing despite sign language being the third language that she is learning and isn't a native speaker. She was confused about gloss or glosa in Indonesian. That's the thing that is most often forgotten when learning and translating a foreign language. Foreign language teachers almost never teach about gloss to students and yeah, I am sure some do and some do not.  The Gloss (Gr) means when a word is attached to a sign in simple terms. It refers to the way that ASL (American Sign Language) names signs in order to give a sense of the meanings behind them. A word or word that represents that sign does not signify its meaning in any way (source: What Are Glosses in Sign Language/  https://www.ilovelanguages.com/what-are-glosses-in-sign-language ). A gloss happens because it causes when a student who learns a second language but their mind that used to be a native language as bo...
